Patient-centric clinical trials, which are likely to be more efficient, productive, and engaging with patients and their needs, are at the forefront of Navitas Life Sciences' approach. The Society for Clinical Trials (SCT) 2024 theme, 'It takes a village: Patient-centered partnerships in clinical trials,' resonates deeply with us. As one of the leading cros clinical trials industry has witnessed, prioritizing patient-centricity and clinical trial diversity are at the core of our clinical trials management.
In this blog, we spoke to Sarah Lawrence, our Senior Clinical Project Manager, who will be presenting two papers at SCT 2024 about her posters, the challenges affecting patient-centric partnerships, and more.
Sarah Lawrence
Senior Clinical Project Manager
The theme for this year’s SCT is 'It takes a village: Patient-centered partnerships in clinical trials'. How does Navitas Life Sciences prioritize patient-centricity in its clinical trial project management?
The clinical data science approach in world-wide clinical trials conducted at Navitas Life Science involves developing efficient methods for harmonizing data across a variety of systems and platforms. By targeting this domain specialty, our clinical trials management team is able to ensure that valuable patient data is usable no matter how it is collected or where it comes from. This approach decreases burden for study patients by reducing visits, promotes opportunities implementation for remote data collection procedures, and maximizes a patient’s contribution to research by allowing full use of all their available data within a system.
Please provide a brief overview of the two posters you will be presenting at SCT? What key insights or findings do they offer to the clinical trials community?
This year, Navitas Life Sciences will present topics related to how a strategic site model uses Decentralized clinical trial methods to increase participant enrolment, and how to operate a Registry Coordinating Center to implement a successful Registry study protocol. Both of these posters provide insight to techniques that sponsors and investigators can use to collect Real World Evidence(RWE) to incorporate into their portfolios to meet mission statements, satisfy stakeholders, and impact decision-making.
What are some of the challenges you've seen in fostering patient-centered partnerships in clinical trials, and how does Navitas Life Sciences address these challenges?
Site engagement is key to achieving a well-run patient-centered trial. Study protocols and programs that aim to prioritize the patient experience require significant engagement from site investigators, clinical trial assistant, clinical trial associate and clinical trial project managers in order to maintain connections with patients while also implementing study procedures that may be complex in nature. In these instances, Navitas Life Sciences works closely with partners and clients to strategically design a site management plan that minimizes burden for the site team while also ensuring they focus on the most critical procedures and data points. Our agile clinical monitoring and data management techniques are always uniquely tailored to achieve the highest quality data in areas where it matters the most to drive superior outcomes.
Collaboration across disciplines is emphasized in the SCT meeting program. How does Navitas Life Sciences engage with different stakeholders, both within and outside the organization, to ensure successful clinical trial outcomes?
We pride ourselves in maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise in best practices related to world wide clinical trial operations, clinical data management and clinical data sciences. We recognize that collaboration across disciplines is of upmost importance to be able to anticipate and navigate the course of implementing a clinical trial in today’s world. As Navitas Life Sciences has grown in the clinical Registry space, we have mastered the ability to work across teams to communicate on process gaps, identify priority areas and objectives, and increase efficiency in key domains to deliver on milestones and tasks. Collaboration both within and outside of the Navitas Life Sciences team allows for rapid identification of areas of success or pain points in a process and cultivates an environment of evidence-based decision making that informs our strategic planning.
How does Navitas Life Sciences leverage technology and innovation to enhance patient engagement and improve the overall clinical trial experience?
Navitas Life Sciences leverages technology and innovation to enhance patient engagement and improve the overall clinical trial experience. Through innovative solutions, we streamline processes, offer tailored remote monitoring capabilities, and provide interactive platforms to engage patients and investigators effectively throughout the trial journey. Our capability to apply data standardization and common data elements allow our team to integrate data from multiple sources, including electronic medical records, imaging data, and patient-reported outcome assessments. Innovation solutions related to data quality control, data management procedures, and software choice ensure that clinical trials are run efficiently and result in high-quality outcomes.
Please tell us what attendees can expect from Navitas Life Sciences’ presence at SCT?
Navitas Life Sciences looks forward to gaining insight from clinical trial experts to further expand our team’s expertise. We also look forward to getting a sense of where clinical researchers and investigators require increased support to meet the needs of their patient populations, and SCT is an excellent opportunity for our team to be at the forefront of what’s new in clinical trials so that we can continue to provide comprehensive and agile services to our clients. Navitas Life Sciences is excited to be a part of SCT 2024, contributing to the dialogue on patient-centered partnerships and showcasing our commitment to innovation and excellence in clinical research.
