World Environment Day 2023: How Navitas Life Sciences tackles Plastic Pollution

World Environment Day serves as a reminder to reflect on our impact on the environment and to take the necessary steps toward a sustainable future. We stand with the United Nations World environment day 2023 theme to beat plastic pollution. Navitas Life Sciences reaffirms its commitment to combating the global plastic crisis by finding innovative solutions to plastic pollution.

As an industry-leading CRO clinical trial organization, Navitas Life Sciences acknowledges its responsibility and strives to implement various initiatives aimed at reducing plastic usage, thereby lowering hazardous plastic pollution in the ocean.

Safety has always been a priority, and safety begins by ensuring the environment is safe and pollution free. This blog explores how we are actively working to combat this critical environmental issue and highlights some solutions on world environment day 2023.

Lake Clean-up:

Navitas Life sciences collaborates with multiple stakeholders to drive systemic change in reducing plastic pollution. Lake clean up is a decisive step towards restoring and protecting natural water bodies. Recognizing the importance of lakes in supporting biodiversity and providing clean water, we have undertaken the cleaning and rejuvenation of 11 lakes in collaboration with local authorities and environmental organizations. Through these efforts, Navitas Life Sciences has not only removed plenty of plastic waste but also improved the overall water quality and ecosystem health.

The volunteers got a glimpse of the magnitude of waste that is thrown around lakes, the environmental hazard that it could cause, the effect of plastic pollution on marine biotech and the urgent need to clean-up water bodies. This initiative helped in restoring the beauty of the lakes and created a better habitat for birds and aquatic life in the lakes. It also helped in reducing interruption to ground water discharge.

Painting the walls with Awareness Messages

We embraced a unique approach to raise awareness about the benefits of going plastic-free and conserving water. By supporting wall paintings that depict these crucial messages, the company has found a visually compelling way to inspire change and foster a collective commitment to protect our environment.

Organizing Beach Cleanups:

To combat the menace of plastic pollution along coastlines, Navitas Life Sciences has organized five beach cleanup campaigns. These events brought together employees, local communities, and volunteers, creating awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic on marine life and ecosystems. By collecting and properly disposing of plastic waste, we contributed to restoring the pristine beauty of the shorelines.

Plastic-Free Workplace:

As a leading clinical trial CRO, we focus on health and understand the importance of leading by example. Thus, we have implemented a comprehensive plastic reduction policy within our premises. We have adopted practices such as eliminating single-use plastic items like bottles, cutlery, and straws. Instead, reusable alternatives, such as glass or stainless steel bottles, biodegradable cutlery, and paper straws, are provided to employees.

Navitas Life Sciences has a cafetaria that is environment friendly, reducing the need for food delivery from restaurants that lead to plastic waste in the form of packaging material. Staff who do not wish to eat at the office cafeteria are encouraged to bring lunch in steel containers.

Employee Awareness and Education:

Navitas Life Sciences recognizes that creating a sustainable future requires collective efforts. Therefore, we organize regular awareness campaigns and educational sessions to inform employees about the detrimental impact of plastic pollution on the environment and public health. These initiatives aim to inspire and empower individuals to make conscious choices, both at work and in their personal lives, to reduce plastic waste.

Prioritizing Patient Safety

Reducing costs, increasing efficiency and compliance while improving Patient Safety

Our client had significant challenges in containing high PV fixed costs and its in-house PV team had difficulty managing multiple vendors. The company wanted to find a single PV partner that could perform End-to-End PV Services.

Read our case study and learn how we helped a global pharmaceutical company:

  • Implement PV best practices using advanced PV automation and streamlining technology
  • Optimize resources and processes whilst reducing costs
  • Establish an EU QPPV Office in Europe which included access to a network of local QPPVs
  • Set up a processing unit that can scale up from 15,000 cases per year to over 30,000 cases
