World Health Day 2025: Maternal and Newborn Health

celebrating-women-empowerment

On April 7, 2025, we join the World Health Organisation, under the banner of Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures. The World Health Day 2025 campaign urges stakeholders to take decisive action against preventable maternal and newborn deaths. Over 300,000 women lose their lives annually due to pregnancy or childbirth, and 4 million newborns die or are stillborn each year, underscoring an urgent need for action.

Navitas Life Sciences is stepping up to this global health awareness challenge by bridging science and CRO services to redefine what's possible in women's and neonatal health research.

Importance of Women’s Health

Women’s health issues remain critically underrepresented in clinical research pipelines. From gynaecological conditions and infertility to postpartum nutrition and infant care, there’s a pressing need for evidence-based solutions that address the full continuum of female health. Navitas Life Sciences is a global clinical research organization with over 30 years of expertise in clinical trials, including maternal health clinical trials, women's health trials, and child health research.

Our end-to-end CRO services that span early- and late-phase studies, real-world evidence generation, and non-interventional research, with capabilities and expertise in maternal health and pediatric trials. Our comprehensive clinical development services cover everything from protocol design and project management to regulatory strategy, data management, safety oversight, and medical writing.

From Menstruation to Motherhood: A Life-Course Approach

Our work in reproductive and maternal health is comprehensive. Clinical trials in contraception, infertility, and ovarian stimulation for ART have been conducted across multiple sites globally, ensuring culturally contextual and scientifically rigorous outcomes. Meanwhile, we provide end-to-end clinical trial support for studies on menstruation, bacterial vaginosis, and recurrent vulvovaginitis, conditions that significantly impact quality of life.

Newborn and Infant Care Trials

A mother’s health is inextricably linked to her child’s future. That’s why our work spans from pregnancy studies through to early childhood. We’ve conducted pediatric clinical trials, including five infant formula trials, studies on cow’s milk allergy, and neonatal research focused on micronutrient interventions. Each project is designed to inform better nutritional and developmental outcomes, reinforcing our role as a trusted maternal healthcare CRO and child health CRO.

Long-Term Health for Women

Postnatal care is not a finish line. It’s a foundation. Our maternal and pediatric trials targeting nutritional supplements for postpartum women and nutrition-focused interventions for long-term well-being reflect our broader commitment to women's lifelong health. These studies not only explore treatment but also focus on prevention and recovery.

Science Meets Strategy

With global operations and a suite of specialized services—from statistical modeling and safety monitoring to regulatory filings and medical communications—Navitas Life Sciences delivers clinical research at scale. Whether it’s a Phase II trial at a single site or a non-interventional study conducted globally, our teams handle complexity with precision and empathy.
